ULAB Accelerates AI Integration Across Education, Research, and Industry Engagement

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly reshaping the way people learn, work, communicate, and create. As universities around the world adapt to this transformation, the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) is taking strategic steps to integrate AI across its academic ecosystem, ensuring that students, faculty, and institutional practices remain prepared for the future.

A significant milestone in this journey was reached on June 18, 2026, when ULAB held the first meeting of its newly formed AI Integration and Digital Learning Subcommittee. Established to guide the university's transition into an AI-augmented educational environment, the committee brings together representatives from academic departments and administrative offices to develop a coordinated institutional approach to AI adoption.

The subcommittee will focus on key areas including AI literacy, policy development, innovative teaching and learning practices, and academic integrity. By creating a dedicated governance structure, ULAB is ensuring that AI integration is approached strategically, responsibly, and in alignment with the university's academic mission and long-term vision.

The committee's formation reflects a broader institutional commitment: preparing ULAB for a future in which artificial intelligence becomes an integral part of education, research, administration, and professional practice.

That commitment was evident throughout the day as ULAB hosted several initiatives designed to translate vision into action.

One of the highlights was the ULAB x SuperAnnotate AI Bootcamp, organized by the Career Services and Alumni Relations Office (CSARO) in collaboration with SuperAnnotate AI Inc. More than 200 students from various departments participated in the programme, gaining valuable insights into the rapidly evolving AI industry and the opportunities emerging within it.

The bootcamp provided participants with direct exposure to industry expectations and emerging career pathways in artificial intelligence. Students also took part in an on-site screening assessment, through which 70 top-performing participants were selected and offered project-based contractual employment opportunities with SuperAnnotate AI Inc.

The initiative demonstrated how universities can bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs, while equipping students with skills relevant to the future workforce.

Recognizing that successful AI integration also depends on faculty readiness, ULAB launched a four-week training series on Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education through the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), in collaboration with the Office of Faculty Research (OFR). More than 30 faculty members participated in the inaugural session.

Titled “Teaching with AI: Pedagogical Shifts, Possibilities, and Challenges in Higher Education,” the opening session explored how artificial intelligence is transforming teaching methods, assessment strategies, research practices, and student engagement. The programme aims to provide faculty members with the knowledge and practical tools necessary to effectively integrate AI into their academic work.

By investing in faculty development alongside technological advancement, ULAB is ensuring that innovation is guided by strong pedagogical foundations and human expertise.

AI integration at ULAB is also extending beyond classrooms and laboratories into creative and communication-based disciplines. On the same day, students participated in the workshop “AI-Powered Podcasting: From Script to Sound Engineering,” conducted by Dewan Shahnoor Alam Sourav.

The workshop introduced participants to how AI tools are transforming podcast production, from idea generation and script development to sound engineering and content optimization. Through practical demonstrations and discussions, students explored how emerging technologies are reshaping digital storytelling and content creation.

Together, these initiatives illustrate a comprehensive approach to AI adoption at ULAB. Rather than treating artificial intelligence as a standalone technological trend, the university is integrating it across institutional governance, student development, faculty capacity building, and creative practice.

As higher education continues to evolve in response to technological change, ULAB is positioning itself to prepare graduates for an AI-driven future while fostering responsible innovation, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.

The events of June 18 demonstrate more than the adoption of new technology. They reflect a broader transformation—one in which ULAB is actively reimagining how a modern university can prepare its community for the opportunities and challenges of the twenty-first century.
