WURI 2026: ULAB leads in Bangladesh, secures 36th position globally
The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) has secured the top position among Bangladeshi universities in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026, solidifying its standing as the only Bangladeshi institution within the WURI Top 40 by achieving a prestigious 36th place among the Global Top 100 Innovative Universities. WURI President Kyung-Sung Kim made the announcement, noting that ULAB is the only Bangladeshi university to remain in WURI’s Global Top 100 for six consecutive years.
This achievement marks a steady rise in ULAB’s rankings over the years: 100th in 2021, 96th in 2022, 75th in 2023, 69th in 2024, and 54th in 2025.
The achievement was announced during the 6th Annual Conference of the Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) & WURI Ceremony 2026, held from May 6–8, 2026, and hosted by National Chi Nan University, Nantou, Taiwan.
Notably, a total of 1,927 universities from 96 countries participated in the WURI Rankings 2026, with seven Bangladeshi universities making it into the rankings.
Beyond the overall ranking, the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh also earned recognition in several major categories, securing noteworthy positions: 5th in Social Impact through Knowledge Transfer, 30th in Crisis Management, 55th in Future-Oriented Responses to Global Uncertainty and Geopolitical Risk, 58th in Cost-Effectiveness Management, 61st in Digital and AI Transformation in Strategy and Management, 66th in Ethics and Integrity, 79th in Financial Impact-Driven Technology Transfer, and 100th in Empowerment-Based Management, further highlighting its comprehensive strengths across diverse areas of impact-driven education.
