The first BBA Forum - Fall 2025 marked a significant milestone in student engagement at ULAB. Held on December 18 at the Forum Hall, the event featured eight BBA students presenting their internship experiences and academic projects. The students were thoughtfully questioned by Dr. Abdul Baten, Dr. Kazi Md. Tarique, and Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin, adding an engaging and evaluative dimension to the forum. After presentation certificates were distributed and students were congratulated for their hardwork by Dr. Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, Professor & Dean of ULAB School of Business and Dr. A F Wazir Ahmad. The event highlighted the value of experiential learning, showcased student initiative, and emphasized the strong link between academic knowledge and real-world practice. The students have shared their experience of internship with us:

“I completed my internship at IDLC Investments Limited under the Structured Finance Department. During this period, I gained hands-on exposure to loan syndication, project financing, bond research, and green financing initiatives. The experience allowed me to bridge academic knowledge with real-world financial practices. I closely observed how NBFIs structure large-scale financing, manage risks, and coordinate with multiple institutions. This internship enhanced my analytical, communication, and professional skills and strengthened my career interest in structured finance and investment banking.”

“My internship at Prime Bank Investment PLC was a truly transformative and enriching experience. I had the opportunity to work closely with seasoned industry professionals whose knowledge and experience deepened my understanding of investment banking and the capital market. As part of the Portfolio Management Department, I gained practical exposure to portfolio management, market research, CRM operations, and investor-focused activities. I actively participated in corporate visits, financial awareness programs, and university seminars, including arranging an investment awareness session at IUB. Observing these sessions showed me how financial education can meaningfully change people’s perspectives toward the capital market. PBIL's supportive, encouraging team members created a welcoming, collaborative environment that made working both effective and enjoyable for me. I am especially grateful to my supervisor, Ms. Rupa Roy, FAVP at PBIL, whose leadership, professionalism, and determination inspired me greatly. Her guidance taught me how to grow and excel as a woman in the financial industry. This internship taught me the importance of optimism and resilience in building a successful career, while also strengthening my skills, confidence, and long-term commitment to a career in finance.”

“I completed my internship as a Human Resources Intern at Asiatic Marketing Communications Limited (AMCL), which is known as Bangladesh’s oldest and largest advertising agency. During my tenure, I actively supported core HR functions, including recruitment coordination, employee documentation, compliance-related processes, database maintenance, and cross-departmental HR operations. My role exposed me to practical HR processes within a fast-paced creative organization and enhanced my analytical understanding of workforce management challenges. Alongside my operational responsibilities, I conducted a research study on integrating AI into performance management systems, examining employee perceptions and readiness for AI in this rapidly evolving technological era. This experience enhanced my professional composure, time-management skills, and overall understanding of strategic HR functions, and culminated in the presentation of my findings at the BBA Forum, Fall 2025.”

“During my internship at Bangladesh Finance Capital Limited, I stepped into the heart of Bangladesh’s merchant banking and capital market ecosystem. Placed in the Research and Development team, I worked on real equity research assignments, including detailed company analyses and valuation-backed investment ideas. I contributed to valuation reports using DCF and comparable multiples, helping transform raw financial data into structured insights for portfolio and advisory decisions. The experience significantly sharpened my analytical rigor, modeling capability, and report writing quality under tight, market driven deadlines. Operating in a lean, research focused team also taught me to be proactive, resourceful, and self directed in learning advanced tools and sector dynamics.”

“During my internship in the Finance and Operations division at Impress Capital Limited (ICL), a leading AMC, I gained hands-on experience in fund administration and regulatory compliance. I prepared weekly NAV reports, managed investor subscriptions and redemptions, processed Treasury Bond accruals, and prepared accurate tax and compliance records. Daily reconciliations reinforced a central principle: in finance, precision is non-negotiable, small errors can have significant consequences for investors, regulators, and the firm. Beyond technical tasks, I developed a deeper understanding of risk management, institutional controls, and the importance of upholding the fiduciary system, witnessing firsthand how disciplined processes and robust oversight sustain trust and long-term performance in asset management.”

I also completed a research study on international payment issues for remote workers in Bangladesh. The research connected my internship experience with real problems like fees, delays, and exchange rates. Overall, the internship improved my communication, problem-solving, and confidence in remote work. It was a meaningful experience that prepared me for future career opportunities.”
