Student-Led Entrepreneurial Success

Md. Esrak Sadab, a 3rd-semester student in the BBA Department at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), embodies the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit that the university fosters. As the Founder and CEO of Esrak Shoe House and the e-commerce platform www.esrakz.com, he has built a successful business while pursuing his undergraduate studies.
Sadab’s entrepreneurial journey began three years ago when he started as a reseller. With determination and market insight, he soon began sourcing directly from factories, ensuring that all Esrak Shoe House products are proudly made in Bangladesh. His venture not only highlights local craftsmanship but also contributes to the “Made in Bangladesh” movement.
Today, Esrak Shoe House generates around BDT 700,000 in monthly revenue, employs five staff members, and allocates about BDT 200,000 monthly for Meta advertising. With a fixed operational cost of roughly BDT 50,000, Sadab’s strong financial management and strategic marketing demonstrate a clear understanding of modern business practices.
Md. Esrak Sadab’s story stands as an inspiring example of how ULAB students combine academic knowledge with entrepreneurial drive to create real-world impact and contribute to Bangladesh’s growing business landscape.

I am a BBA student at ULAB and, alongside my studies, I operate a watch business. This year marked significant growth for my business, as I expanded from two branches to four. Managing this expansion while continuing my academic responsibilities has been challenging but highly rewarding.
To handle the increased workload, I hired employees and introduced business automation, including website integration. These systems allow customers to engage online with minimal manual involvement, enabling me to focus more on my studies and strategic business expansion.
My education at ULAB has played an important role in this progress. Courses in management, marketing, and operations have helped me apply structured planning, delegation, and efficiency in real business situations. This year reflects how academic learning has directly supported my entrepreneurial growth.
