International Conference on Sustainable Development

Sustainable Development comes as a wave of modern environmentalism heralding a new approach to tackle environmental issues. Global warming, forest degradation, soil erosion, rising sea levels reflect not only ecological changes but also the political processes at the local, national and international levels. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will set the development process and the aid distribution among all the countries for the next 15 years. The successful International Conference held by the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) on Sustainable Development paved way for the 2nd Annual Conference on Sustainable Development 2017. The aim of the conference is to identify and share empirical research findings and practical, evidence-based solutions and public-private collaboration that can support the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly focusing on 8 of the SDG goals – clean energy, sustainable cities, water and sanitation, climate action, end hunger, production and consumption and life below water and on land. The conference provides a unique opportunity to bring together stakeholders from government, academia, private companies, international agencies, NGOs, and grassroots organizations to share practical solutions towards the achievement of more sustainable and inclusive societies. CSD, which began as a development and social research center of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, has evolved into a global platform to share research and inform policy decisions on issues around sustainable development and environmental conservation. This conference encourages researchers and practitioners to submit papers appropriate for working towards the SDG goals.
