Juditha Ohlmacher is the Director, Communications and Assistant Professor in Media Studies & Journalism at ULAB. Her MA is in Cinema Studies from New York University, and her BA is in Liberal Arts from St. John's College, USA. Ms. Ohlmacher has specialized in Communications throughout her career. She has developed many websites in the USA and Bangladesh, and was the Team Leader for the ULAB 2.0 initiative that implemented the ULAB Web Portal in 2009. Ms. Ohlmacher's research and teaching interests lie in Bangladeshi cinema and media. In addition, she is a classically trained Bharata Natyam dancer who has performed at Dhaka University, Chhayanat and Shilpakala Academy.

Report on Working Group 2: "Advantages and Disadvantages of Joint Programs and Double Degree Programs" from the EAHEP Workshop on "Student Mobility, Joint Degree Programmes and Institutional Development," held at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 16 February 2009. The Chair of the working group was Prof. Hassan bin Basri, Universiti Kebangsaan, Malaysia. The speakers were Dr. Churnrurtai Kanchanachitra, Mahidol University, Thailand; Dr. Rainer Stachuletz, Berlin School of Economics, and State Bank of Vietnam; and Prof. Zhaohui ZHANG, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, (SWUFE), Chengdu, China. The mission of the working group was: "To explore the advantages and disadvantages of formal Joint- and Double-degree programs as opposed to other kinds of traditional programs such as: study tours, student exchange, and credit transfers programs."
It is an unlikely journey for a madrassa-educated Bangladeshi boy to go to the University of Dhaka, and later America, and then to return with his American wife to become a visionary filmmaker and a voice for Bangladesh’s secular traditions. Yet this was the path that Tareque Masud took before his life was cut short in a road accident on Aug. 13.
