Lending Services
The lending procedure is automated with the Barcode System. Circulations activities are operated by with own Library software.

 

a) Issue:

• An undergraduate Student may borrow two (2) books at a time for a maximum of three (3) days and 1 CD/DVD for one day.
• A graduate Student may borrow two (2) books at a time for a maximum of seven (7) days and 1 CD/DVD for Three days.
• A Faculty Member may borrow three (3) books at a time for a maximum of fourteen (14) days and books marked "R" will be issued for three(3) days. CD/DVD may be borrowed for fourteen (14) days.
• A BOT Member may borrow three (3) books at a time for a maximum of fourteen (14) days and books marked "R" will be issued for three (3) days. CD/DVD may be borrowed for fourteen (14) days.
• A Staff member may borrow two (2) books at a time for a maximum of three (3) days and 1 CD/DVD for one day.

b) Return
Students/users will have to return borrowed resources on time. Otherwise fine will be calculated as per Library rules.

Language Lab
ULAB Library has a course related Language Lab for enhancing English, Bengali etc. language proficiency of the students. Library has rich collections of IELTS, TOFEL, GMAT, SAT, GRE etc.in CD & DVD format.

Library Database
Library maintains database of library holdings. Users can easily find out books etc with the help of computerized
Database in the library. Search may be performed adopting any option of the following:

• Title
• Author
• ISBN
• Book ID
• Call Number
• Key Word

Computerized Catalog
Library maintains computerized catalog of library holdings. Users can easily find out information of particular books etc with the help of computerized catalog in the library.

Information Services
Information services are provided to the users.

• Reference service
• Current Awareness Service (CAS)
• Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) etc

Faculty Handout Services
Faculty members’ handouts are kept at the Circulation Section. Students can use these for study and take photocopy services.

Photocopy Services
Photocopy services are available at the Pigeonhole section. Students will have to fill up a Photocopy Requisition Slip that is available at the Circulation Desk. The photocopying charge of Tk. 1 per page is payable in advance.

Printout Services
Students can take printouts of their electronic documents by paying the following charge per page.
Plain text Tk. 3 and Image Tk. 5

Pigeonhole Services
Students/users have to deposit their bags, personal files, books and other belongings to the pigeonhole before entering into library. They must not keep any valuable items like cash, mobile phones, wallet, and ornaments inside the bag deposited at the pigeonhole. Students/users must collect a token against their deposit and return the token when claiming belongings. If the token is lost, the library authority must be informed immediately. A fine of Tk. 100 will be imposed for issuing a duplicate token.
