ULAB Electronics Club (UEC) celebrated its 1st anniversary PDF Print E-mail

ULAB Electronics Club (UEC) celebrated its 1st anniversary on Wednesday, 7th December, 2011 at the rooftop seminar room of Campus-B. A documentary was exhibited based on the events and different programs organized by Electronics Club in the first year.

On this occasion, Farhana Sabrina, Advisor of UEC, announced the names of the new committee members and introduced them. Some prizes were also distributed among the students for their performances in  previous events.

 

 
A talk on “PSpice for Beginners” by ETE & UEC PDF Print E-mail

ULAB Department of Eletronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE) and the ULAB Electronics Club organized a talk on "PSpice for Beginners" on Thursday, December 1, 2011. The program was conducted by Ms. Jakia Afruz, Lecturer, ETE.

 
MSJ Faculty Film Screening PDF Print E-mail

ULAB MSJ Department organized a film screening on Thursday, December 01, from 10:00 am to 1:00pm, at the ULAB Auditorium, Campus A.

A Razibul Hossain Khondoker’s film UNADITTYA (Less than Sun God) was screened. The story of the film is based on the human rights and the conflict situation of an ethnic group "Orao".
After the show, Mr. Razibul shared his experiences and views about the film with students and answered the questions raised by the students.

Razibul Hossain is a Senior Lecturer of ULAB MSJ as well as an independent filmmaker.

 
Seminar on Reporting Business & Financial News at ULAB PDF Print E-mail
ULAB MSJ Department hosted a seminar titled "Reporting Business & Financial News in Bangladesh" with Daily Sun’s chief reporter Khawaza Main Uddin as the keynote speaker on December 1, 2011. Monami Haque, senior lecturer of MSJ department, was the facilitator.
 
Khawaza Main Uddin started the seminar discussing about the growing need of business journalism in Bangladesh. He divided the seminar into two parts-lectures & active learning. By bringing all the apprentices of ULAB Business News Digest in the seminar, Monami Haque and Khawaza Main Uddin made all the terms and jargons understandable in the question-answer round.

In the second half of the seminar, Khawaza Main Uddin assigned the students to select one business news from any English daily and then summarize it. This was the most inspiring part of the seminar. The instant brainstorming produced interesting results and many students came up with a better summary.

 
Rio+2 UN Library Network Workshop PDF Print E-mail
A UN Library Network Workshop on "Rio+20: The Future We Want and Use of Social Media in Library Services" was organized jointly by University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and United Nations Information Center (UNIC), Dhaka at ULAB on Friday, December 2, 2011.

Dr. S.M. Mannan, Professor, Department of Information Science and Library Management, Dhaka University and Mr. Anis Pervez, Associate Professor, ULAB Department of Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) and Coordinator, ULAB Library Affairs attended the inaugural program as special guests.

Mr. Kazi Ali Reza, Officer-in–charge, UNIC Dhaka, delivered a speech on "Rio+20: The Future We Want as Resource Persons." Mr. Kazi Mostak Gausul Hoq, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Science and Library Management, Dhaka University, delivered a speech on "The Use of Social Media in Library Services as Resource Persons."

The Workshop was coordinated by M. Moniruzzaman, Knowledge Management Officer, UNIC, Dhaka. The workshop came to an end with a question and answer session.

ULAB Electronics Club organized an "Electronics Quiz Contest"...the first round PDF Print E-mail

ULAB Electronics Club  organized an "Electronics Quiz Contest"  on the date of 1st December,2011 @ Campus-A. Many students participated in different groups at the first round of the two-phased competition.Prof A. H. M. Asadul Haq & Farhana Sabrina were present there to observe the real excitement of such a arduous competition of the students. 

Among many groups, only 5 groups were qualified for the final round... The final round will be held on 5th December,2011(Monday) @ 5 PM

It's a fact that the more anyone knows about electronics as well as technology, the more he/she can harness it to help catapult the educational & professional life to new highs and to dramatically enhance enjoyment. These skills and concepts can be carried on to future projects & other learning's.
