This is to inform that Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) is going to arrange a free training program on “Computer Fundamentals (Microsoft Office -Word, Excel and Power point & Access) and Internet” for H.S.C Level students. The day long training will be conducted by experienced faculties from University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). Forum on Copyright Law in the Media Industry |

The Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) Department of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) will hold a forum entitled "Copyright Law: Challenges and Opportunities in the Media Industry of Bangladesh" on April 5, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the ULAB Auditorium. The purpose of the activity is to raise awareness about the current state of copyright law and its practice in Bangladesh and to explore ways on how to protect rights artists, musicians, writers, photographers, filmmakers and other media professionals.
The Chief Guest of the activity will be Mr. Mohammad Monzurur Rahman (Registrar of Copyright) while the Distinguished Special Guest will be Mr. Nafiul Hasan (Senior Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Post and Telecommunication). Mr. Hamin Ahmed (President, Bangladesh Music Band Association) and Mr. Mahboob Zaman (President, BASIS) will be Special Guests and A B M Hamidul Mishbah (Barrister-at-Law and ULAB MSJ Adjunct Faculty) will be the keynote speaker. Pro Vic eChancellor Imran Rahman will deliver the Welcome Remarks. Representatives and professionals from the media industry, journalists, lawyers and students with law, journalism and media studies backgrounds are expected to attend the seminar. |

World Health Day Celebration and Photo Exhibition |

Social Welfare Club observed World Health Day on 7 April, 2011 by focusing on creating awareness on Thalassamia., as it is a blood transmitted disease and the student of colleges and universities are the target group.
SWC arranged a photo exhibition focusing on the issue form 3 April to 7 April. The renowned photographer Noor Alam who is working on the issues from last couple of years exhibited his photos. Zaid Islam, photographer from The Independent, was the curator. ULAB Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Imran Rahman and Nasir Ali Mamun, renowned portrait photographer, opened the event.
There was a one hour seminar on creating awareness among the students on the closing day of 7 April) Dr. Wakar A. Khan, Thalassemia specialist Head of Thalassamia depatment of Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Mr. Mustafizur Rahman, Advisor of Bangladesh Thalassemia Hospital were the speakers of the seminar and Kamrun Nahar Mukula, Thalassemia patient and presently Thalassemia counselor shared his experiences.
During the exhibition SWC is also held a free blood grouping program with the support of Thalassemia Hospital and a blood screening for Thalassemia. |

All ULAB Clubs are organizing a day-long Boishakhi Mela on the Ramchandrapur playground. All students, faculty, and staff are invited. Tickets are Tk. 100 only. All clubs will have stalls. There will be food, music, nagor dola, horse cart, and performances by students. Food is being provided by MBA club. Sports Club is arranging friendly football and cricket matches. Business club is handling event management. |
