Photo, video and visual installation - Halda: The River of Mystery -
In May 2011, a group of students of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies traveled to one of Bangladesh’s most exceptional places, Halda River in Chittagong - the only tidal river natural crap breeding ground in the world. Over several days, the students accompanied local fishermen collecting and hatching the eggs of the carp. The Goethe Institut is please to present the results, unique photos and videos documenting the indigenous practices of the fisher folk and the relationship between humans and water in Bangladesh. The exhibition, which through the fusion of art and environment provides new ways of perception, however also intends to raise awareness for the fragility of this eco system.
