The Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) Department of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) will hold a forum entitled "Copyright Law: Challenges and Opportunities in the Media Industry of Bangladesh" on April 5, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the ULAB Auditorium.  The purpose of the activity is to raise awareness about the current state of copyright law and its practice in Bangladesh and to explore ways on how to protect rights artists, musicians, writers, photographers, filmmakers and other media professionals.

The Chief Guest of the activity will be Mr. Mohammad Monzurur Rahman (Registrar of Copyright) while the Distinguished Special Guest will be Mr. Nafiul Hasan (Senior Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Post and Telecommunication). Mr. Hamin Ahmed (President, Bangladesh Music Band Association) and Mr. Mahboob Zaman (President, BASIS) will be Special Guests and A B M Hamidul Mishbah (Barrister-at-Law and ULAB MSJ Adjunct Faculty) will be the keynote speaker.  Pro Vic eChancellor Imran Rahman will deliver the Welcome Remarks. Representatives and professionals from the media industry, journalists, lawyers and students with law, journalism and media studies backgrounds are expected to attend the seminar.
