Participation and Intervention of ULAB- ISD to the Delhi Summit 2011

Dr. Rathana peou van den Heuvel, Deputy Director, Institute for Sustainable Development (ISD) will represent ULAB- ISD to the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit, scheduled to be held during the period February 3-5, 2011. Dr. Rathana will intervene as a member of the Climate Change Panel on Vulnerability and Resilience.  

The theme of the Summit last year was ‘Beyond Copenhagen : New Pathways to Sustainable Development’. Given the current state of developments at the global level, the theme for DSDS 2011 is ‘Tapping local initiatives and tackling global inertia’.

Delhi Sustainable Development Summit has now evolved as clearly the most important and prominent global event dealing with issues of significance for the future of humanity and this planet. The Summit attracts some of the most prominent leaders from across the globe including heads of states and heads of governments, chief executives of major corporations, heads of international NGOs, Nobel Prize winners, leaders of civil society and distinguished academics. Among those who have addressed summits in the past two years include:
