Seminar on Enabling Biological Discoveries Through Computer Vision Print
Thursday, April 08 2010, 11:00am - 1:00pm

Seminar on "Enabling Biological Discoveries Through Computer Vision."

It is my pleasure to invite you to attend the seminar on “Enabling Biological Discoveries
Through Computer Vision” by Professor Mohammad Shorif Uddin (Adviser),
Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB).

Abstract:

“The entry of imaging into light microscopy has served as a powerful tool in making
high-throughput screening platform, which finally leads to important biological
discoveries through computer vision.  It is obvious that the manual processing
and analysis of thousands of microscopy images traditionally performed by human
experts is increasingly becoming inefficient and inaccurate. Hence, automation
is an ultimate necessity. This talk concentrated on image screening automation
techniques by highlighting some biological projects on skin fragility disorder
analysis, cellular quantification of NFAT5a as a stress mediation mechanism,
and microscopy image restoration for subsequent analysis”.

Venue:  Seminar Room, Campus B, House 85, Road 7/A (Satmasjid Road), Dhaka

Date: 08th April, 2010          Time: 11:00 am -- 1:00 pm

I would like to mention that this seminar would be an excellent opportunity to get
better understanding of image screening automation techniques.
