The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department of ULAB will organize a seminar on "Success stories in CSE education and co-curricular activities" on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at its own campus in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. Chief Guest will be renowned BUET Computer Science and Engineering faculty Professor Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad. Professor Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad is a leading name in the computer science and engineering education in Bangladesh. He was awarded Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) Gold Medal for Senior Scientists Physical Sciences Group in 2006. Professor Kaykobad is a Fellow, Bangladesh Academy of Sciences. He was the Team Leader of the first-ever Bangladeshi team in the International Olympiad in Informatics held at Athens, Greece in 2004. He has been organizing Mathematics Olympiad for school and college students in Bangladesh since 2003. Dr Kaykobad has written numerous articles and essays highlighting the prospects of computerization and our education system.
In the seminar computer science graduates working in different organizations will share their experiences with the potential students interested to build their career in Information Technology as well as with their parents. ULAB’s Computer Science and Engineering Department is headed by Dr. Sazzad Hossain, Ph.D. (Portland, Oregon, USA). Students from the CSE Department recently won the 1st annual CFICC Case Competition held in November, 2009 and will be competing to keep the title in 2010.
