Roundtable on Media Production Graduates Print

The Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) Department of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) will hold a Roundtable Discussion entitled “Prospects of Media Production in Bangladesh” on December 17, 2009, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm. at the ULAB Auditorium, Campus A.  The purpose of the activity is to know the knowledge, attitude and skills required of media studies graduates by the industry. Panelists to the roundtable discussion included:  Fahmida Irfan (Drik), Tamzid Siddiq (Zanala Bangladesh), Abdullah Al Masud (INTERACTIVE), Hasnain Khurshed (Green Planet) and Maksud Jamil (nTV).

The discussants are expected to touch on the following:  What is the nature of media production in Bangladesh?  Who are the clients and what is produced for them?  What are the challenges of media production houses in the country?  What are the prospects?  What knowledge, attitude and skills are required to be successful in the profession?

ULAB opened its doors in October 2004 after obtaining permission from the University Grants Commission.  The University is devoted to developing young minds to their fullest potential through the free and creative pursuit of knowledge.  It offers degrees in English and Humanities; Media Studies and Journalism; Business Administration; Computer Science and Engineering; and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.  The MSJ department has majors in Journalism, Digital Production and Mass Communication.
