- Natural resource management (water management, land use etc…)
- Renewable energy (Solar energy, innovative technology that is cost effective and efficient)
- Natural hazards-climate change adaptation (comprehensive disaster management)
- Green business
- Good governance and policy
About the Center for Sustainable Development The Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) [ formerly the Institute for Sustainable Development (ISD)] is a research center at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), created in 2006, motivated by social responsibilities, moral concerns and environmental challenges to provide present and future generations with relevant knowledge and expertise for a better future both for Bangladesh and the global world. A crucial point in time was in February, 2009 when CSD developed it 5 year Action Plan Strategy and Research Agenda. CSD’s areas of expertise and interests lie on 5 main domains; Natural Resource Management, Renewable Energy, Natural Hazards- Climate Change Adaptation, Social Business and Good Governance. Different projects are currently being proposed under Climate Change Adaptation, Social Business and Sustainable Development for Higher Education. Trainings are regularly being conducted on Research Methods as well as Project Cycle Management and Organic Farming respectively by experts in the field.
